Research
Philip Pardey is Director of the GEMS Informatics Center for the College of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS), a joint venture led by CFANS and Research Computing (Minnesota Supercomputing Institute and USpatial).
His research deals with the finance and conduct of R&D globally, methods for assessing the economic impacts of research, and the economic and policy (especially intellectual property) aspects of genetic resources and the biosciences.
Honors and Awards
He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the American Agricultural Economics Association (AAEA), a Distinguished Fellow and Past President of the Australian Agricultural and Resource Economics (AARES) Society, a Distinguished Life Member of the International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE), and winner of the Siehl Prize for Excellence in Agriculture.
Extension and Outreach
Philip Pardey is Professor of Science and Technology Policy in the Department of Applied Economics, and Founding Director of the University of Minnesota's International Science and Technology Practice and Policy (InSTePP) center
