Research
Metin Çakır conducts research on food and agricultural markets, competition, consumer economics, and applied index number theory. His recent work focuses on price measurement, consumer behavior, structural changes in the food retail sector, and the causes and consequences of food price inflation. His research has been published in leading journals, including the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Journal of Retailing, and Food Policy. He has received several honors, including the Quality of Research Discovery Award from the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA). Dr. Çakır is an active member of the AAEA and has served the profession in multiple roles, including as an Area Editor for the Journal of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association. He currently serves as a Co-Editor of the American Journal of Agricultural Economics.
