Metin Çakır conducts research in the areas of industrial organization and food marketing. His recent work on industrial organization involves analysis of market power and its welfare implications in agricultural markets and the economic impacts of the growth of private labels in consumer food markets. In the area of food marketing Çakır’s recent work investigates effects of marketing strategies on the linkage between producer prices and retail price inflation, and on consumers’ food intake.
